The pianist is a war film that directed by Roman Polanski in 2002.First impression from me about this movie is quite bored. It is because, in the beginning of the story I can not understand what they were trying to tell about. This thing happened because of the sound system that a bit poor. It is not taken a long time because at the middle of this film I managed to understand this film was about.
This film is about a famous Polish Jewish pianist named Wladyslaw Spilzman. In the beginning of the story, the residents in Warsaw felt rejoiced and hope the war will ended quickly after Britain and France had declared war in Nazi Germany. Their expectation was wrong. Everything became worst when Nazi were entered their place. Starting from that moment, people in Warsaw were living in hunger, scared and humiliation. They also live in facing a death, starving and being tortured. In to survive their live, they were allowed to have limited money per family. Then, they need to wear armbands to identify themselves. Every people in Warsaw need to follow all the rules that Nazi had stated. In the one scene, the Nazi were come to one apartment and go to the top floor. The Nazi order the family to stand. They just followed but the elderly man in the family was unable to stand from his wheelchair. So, the Nazi were thrown the old man with his wheelchair through the balcony and the rest of the family was shoot along the street.
With his spirit to safe his life from the Nazi, Spilzman was succeed running from a labour camp. He keeps hiding from the Nazi and find food with his own to survive his life. At the end, he managed to safe his life and bears up till Jewish can back their freedom from cruel Nazi. He back to his normal life and played a piano again.
In conclusion, this film is suitable to watch for all people in the world especially for those who stayed in a peace country. It is because it can teach them to be grateful in living in the country that does not face with a war. It also can teach them to more take a good care of their own country and learn to be an independent person especially in finding money.
Thank you.
